Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging at Penn State Altoona
Penn State Altoona values and celebrates diversity in all of its forms. The educational environment of our College is enriched by the diversity of individuals, groups, and cultures that come together in a spirit of learning.
Penn State Altoona's I'm First program builds a supportive community of first-generation students, faculty, and staff members. We celebrate first-generation students as they will be the first in their families to earn a bachelor's degree in the U.S.
International Student Services serves international students at Penn State Altoona by providing support through advising on immigration, personal, and cultural matters. We organize events and activities to support student engagement and development within the campus community.
Penn State Altoona is committed to providing a welcoming, encouraging, and empowering environment for students with disabilities to ensure equal access, full participation, and reasonable accommodations for their academic pursuits.
As costs continue to rise, food insecurity among college students has become increasingly more profound. To combat this, Ivyside Eats provides students with various foods and hygienic products. The service is available at no cost. While students must provide their Penn State ID number, no additional information is required.
Located in room C112 of the Smith Building, the pantry is open during regularly scheduled walk-in hours or by appointment. Donations of all types are accepted. Contact [email protected] to donate.
Our volunteer campus ministry staff welcomes you to the college. Our goals are to help nurture spiritual values; encourage students to maintain and develop their faith; provide an open setting for discussion of religious, moral, and social problems; and cooperate with other campus groups in providing a holistic approach to personal and community growth.
We’re your connection to what’s happening on campus and we offer numerous ways for you to get involved, make a difference, make friends, and develop life and leadership skills.
We provide students with the services and developmental opportunities to challenge, support, and enhance their overall educational experience as they become increasingly active and responsible members of their communities.
